● On April 15, the 137th China Import and Export Fair kicked off in Guangzhou. ● The data from the Canton Fair shows that by April 13, over 200,000 international buyers from 215 countries and regions had signed up early for this year’s event. Among them are 68 of the top 250 global retailers, 20 from Fortune Global 500 companies, 93 retail groups, and 162 businesses from specific industries. Up to April 8, most of these overseas visitors—about 72%—come from Belt and Road partner countries. Another 27.4% are from BRICS nations, 15.4% from OECD countries, 11.7% from RCEP members, 14.3% from Middle Eastern countries, and roughly 10.5% from Europe and North America. When it comes to industries, the biggest groups are buyers interested in manufacturing, electronics and home appliances, lighting and electrical gear, fashion, building materials, and furniture.
